Welcome to the Upper French River Cottagers Association Website
Located at the boundary between Parry Sound and Nipissing Districts in Ontario, Canada, the river drains Lake Nipissing and flows southwest to Georgian Bay. Once part of historic First Nation and fur trade canoe routes, the French River is now a Provincial Park and the summer residence of hundreds of cottagers. The "Upper" French River lies between Dokis First Nation and Lake Nipissing.
Mission Statement (from the UFRCA constitution) The Upper French River Cottagers' Association has been founded for the cottagers in the area of the Upper French River above the Chaudiere and Little Chaudiere Dams, and extending from the Hall River and Five Mile Bay on the west to Lake Nipissing on the east. The Association concerns itself with taking an interest in everything that may contribute to the protection and pleasure of those temporarily or permanently living in the area. The wish of the organization is to preserve the natural beauty and serenity of the Upper French River.
